"History's just one fucking thing after another."

OOOOH, British shows really do make me all fuzzy inside.
I've just finished watching Notes on a Scandal and The History Boys. And they are fantaastic. <33>Notes on a Scandal, stars Judi Dench("Welcome to Judi Dench's Fish'n'Chips!"-The Simpsons) and Cate Blanchett. It's really really twisted and keeps you guessing what exactly is wrong with the two main characters. Hahaa!
Spoilers ahead, but I don't think you mind, do you?
Judi Dench is REALLY old in this show. She has wrinkles that make her look oooold. Oooold. Ok. Cate Blanchett is pretty and the acting is excellent.
The plot revolves around Barbara Corvette(Dench) who's an old spinster desperate for company. She's a high-school teacher and Sheba(Blanchett) is a new teacher entering the school term.
Barbara senses that she can make a good friend with Sheba only to find out later that Sheba was having an illicit affair with one of the students.
The film then spins into an ever more terrifying state which has you hoping the secret won't leak yet you wish it'll blow out into the open.
Barbara turns out to be a reeeeeally psychotic(mentally) person who ruins someone's life just because she wouldn't bury her cat with her.
Makes ya think.
The History Boys on the hand, just made me cry deep down inside. ;w;
The plot may sound really simple to you: A group of boys from Cutlers Grammar school get the highest A level results ever and they are coached by two teachers so they can hopefully get into Oxford and Cambridge in History.
The witty remarks they make and the injection of various Literature keeps you on alert and definitely, Posner's singing is heavenly. He makes me wanna listen to French songs.

The History Boys is actually based on a famous play of the same name, and it actually touches on student-teacher relationship, pederasty(if you don't understand this word, DON'T GOOGLE IT. I will not be responsible for any brain damage.)and of course, high school crushes.
The ending stabbed a spork through my heart. ;^;
